techniques for everyone from deconditioned Baby Boomers to those who are
extremely fit and active – and want to stay that way. From chair
exercise to balance training to boot camp to hip or knee replacement,
this outstanding course will help you to focus your time and energy on
the Baby Boomer market while increasing and enhancing your professional
credibility and marketability.
Our
in-depth, two-day program consists of eight two-hour courses and is designed
to prepare you to work with the Baby Boomer client. Each workshop is
$29, or you can take the full program (eight workshops) for $199.

| # 01 Exercise & the Aging Baby Boomer | Saturday - 8:30 am - 10:30 am The middle years are when the disease process begins to really accelerate. Diabetes, the metabolic syndrome, heart disease and osteoporosis are often diagnosed during middle age and haunt Baby Boomers for the rest of their lives. This imaginative class re-imagines exercise for the Aging Baby Boomer. You will learn how consistent exercise can be used as a mechanism to prevent, control and even regress chronic diseases.
| | # 02 Baby Boomer Boot Camp | Saturday - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm The boot camp approach to fitness is heavy on strength and conditioning drills, and this dynamic class will give you the tools you need to whip your Boomer clients into the best shape of their lives. You'll experience a clever combination of strength and cardio training drills designed to speed up the metabolism while increasing muscular strength, tone and definition, and you'll learn an assortment of imaginative activities that will motivate your clients to push themselves harder than ever before. These extraordinary drills will both encourage and challenge your middle aged clients to be in the best shape of their lives!
| | # 03 Training with Chronic Shoulder Conditions | Saturday - 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm Shoulder injuries are rampant among active Baby Boomers, and this in-depth course will cover exercise guidelines for clients with chronic shoulder conditions. Learn exercise guidelines for clients who are living with impingement, rotator cuff tendinitis, bursitis, painful mobility and much more.
| | # 04 Strategies to Manage Chronic Knee Pain | Saturday - 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm As Baby Boomers continue to age, the incidence of chronic knee dysfunction is sure to increase. This timely workshop explores the ways in which fitness professionals can use exercise as a way to increase knee function and mobility while minimizing pain & discomfort. Discover exercise progressions to enhance pain-free mobility.
| | # 05 Diet, Exercise & Weight Control After 50 | Sunday - 8:30 am - 10:30 am As Baby Boomers continue to age, the rates of overweight and obesity are sure to increase; in fact most Americans reach their maximal body weight somewhere in their late 50s or early 60s. This timely workshop explores the link between exercise, diet and behavioral change as you work to increase your client's metabolic rate. You'll learn real life suggestions for managing caloric intake and intriguing cardiovascular techniques to increase fat burn.
| | # 06 Strength Training After 50 | Sunday - 10:30 am - 12:30 pm If you are not confident taking your client into the weight room, fear no more! This course will teach you age appropriate modifications for upper body, lower body and core. You'll learn how to safely modify the strength training program for the middle aged or older client, and you'll explore both traditional and non-traditional exercise techniques for Boomer clients of all health and fitness levels.
| | # 07 Modifications for Low Back Disorders | Sunday - 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm This electrifying class will teach you programming guidelines for your middle-aged clients with chronic low back pain. You'll discover exercise modalities for clients suffering from various types of chronic low back pain including disc injuries, muscle sprains & strains, spondylolysis & spondylolisthesis. We'll also teach you exercise do's and don'ts specific to this population.
| | # 08 Integrated Hip & Core Training | Sunday - 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm An integrated approach to training the hips & core makes sense: these muscle groups act as a team and affect everything from posture to gait, and from athletic performance to injuries. The hip and core muscles are the source of either power and stability or pain and dysfunction. This intriguing program will show you how to merge training methodologies to identify gluteal dysfunction, and it will introduce unique exercise strategies that will help gain strength, improve performance and maintain power.
